April was an extremely busy month for ke comms. There were several client events that I supported through local public relations efforts, including events for Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum and a fundraiser for Jack’s Generosity.
The Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum broke ground on its new $1 million expansion project. It was an exciting day, and media players from across Tulsa and Sapulpa came out in droves to cover the event. See some of the coverage here, here and here.
I was also able to secure the front page of the Tulsa World for the museum groundbreaking, a coveted spot for any story.

At the end of the month, nonprofit organization Jack’s Generosity – which raises funds and awareness around rare diseases – held its second-annual Unique Jeans fundraiser. I was able to secure Founder Kiley Proffitt on all four local TV stations as well as a story in the Tulsa World, a story in Tulsa Kids, and an event listing in TulsaPeople.
The event was full of emotion, appreciation and entertainment. I was honored to not only support PR efforts for Unique Jeans again this year but attend the fundraiser and drive awareness to its cause.

A new client also earned coverage. Sandra Barnhill is an Atlanta-based author who has more than 30 years of experience in the nonprofit world. She traveled to Michigan to give a talk and was featured on a local TV station up there. Check out the piece here.
Through my regular partnership with Human Impact Solutions, I also helped support the important work taking place during Black Maternal Health Week, a week held in April raising awareness about Black maternal and reproductive justice. Again, it felt meaningful to support the work of women making lasting change. Together with HIS, we landed coverage in numerous outlets. I landed coverage in Axios Atlanta and Public News Service, among other outlets.
Finally, The Association for Women in Communications Tulsa – whose board I’m on – held the annual Newsmakers, honoring women making a name for themselves. I also had another Route 66 story in TulsaPeople, which you can find online here.

Wooh. That’s a lot. If you’re interested in learning how I can support and drive awareness to your business, cause or organization, email me at kristi@kecomms.com.
