October 2026 Wins for ke comms & Our Clients
Updated: 4 days ago

2026 is flying by, and it’s officially “let’s-circle-back-in-the-new-year” season. November and December seem to go even faster than the rest of the year, and with voting, a trip to Arizona, work and more, it’s going to come quick and swift.
But besides all that, I want to focus on what we achieved in October.
A Timely and Powerful Memoir
When Rhiannon Thoreson and I signed the contract for public relations support for her memoir, we had no idea it would be such a timely topic. Her story was already gripping and a must-read. Rhiannon was abducted and sexually assaulted nearly 30 years while a student at the University of Tulsa. The assault was by a stranger and it did not happen on campus, but rather from a business in Tulsa.
Fast forward to today, and sexual assaults on college campuses are in the news. That national news story came through in some of the local coverage Rhiannon very powerfully shared while being interviewed in local Tulsa-based radio, television and digital outlets.
Rhiannon now is a local lawyer and victims rights advocate. See some of the stories about her memoir here, here and here.

Education Takes Center Stage
Another issue is that of public education. Tulsa Public Schools recently announced it is closing or consolidating nearly 20 schools, and client Forum for Real Economic Emancipation held a forum about the topic of education. Read some of the preview stories ke comms placed here and here.
An Award Win for ke comms
October also saw the annual Public Relations Society of America Tulsa Chapter Silver Link Awards. ke comms was awarded an award of merit in the Media Relations category for its work with Jack’s Generosity. What a fun evening!

That’s it for this edition of wins. As always, reach out with questions or to learn more at kristi@kecomms.com.
